Any forms of bullying at work can negatively impact employees. Bullying can cause employees to experience a decrease in performance, low morale, or high rates of absenteeism. Research has concluded leveraging emotional intelligence (EQ) as a viable option to mitigate workplace bullying. EQ is the ability to identify and manage one’s emotions and handle the interpersonal relationship of others.
