Tech Skills for Lawyers

When:
Location:
John and Frances Angelos Law Center
Room:
AL 202
Description:

Gain the technology skills that legal employers want in law clerks and associates. At this workshop, we start with the foundation: gaining and demonstrating proficiency in common office software, such as Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat. You can receive a Legal Technology Assessment via Procertas (https://www.procertas.com/) and earn Qualification Badges that you can add to your resume!

In law practice, you will draft a variety of different documents, including letters, agreements, contracts and court forms, so learning advanced find-and-replace, review tools, "track changes" and formatting in both Microsoft Word and Adobe is essential. Additionally, young lawyers need to be familiar with the features and functionality of Microsoft Excel in order to effectively work with data. The workshop will offer an overview of these essential required skills.

Attendance counts toward your professionalism certificate program requirement.
