Invisible Disabilities: The Truth Revealed

Students with disabilities generally represent 5% to 8% of a campus’ enrollment. Research also reports nationally 32% of employees have a disability. Of these students, more than two-thirds of students and employees have diagnosis referred to as a “invisible” disability. In other words, you can’t tell by looking at a person how their diagnosis impacts their learning or work experience.

Participants will learn:

  • Why the term “invisible” is preferred
  • The significance of using of “people-first” language,
  • Appropriate facts to effectively engage individuals with hidden disabilities
