Learn more about pursuing your M.S. in Health Administration.
"The [B.S. in] Health Administration program is a Saturday-only program designed to meet the educational needs of the working adult. We aim to address the challenges students have in balancing family, work and school and provide an environment that fosters student success.
"The programs cater to those individuals working in the health care industry who are career advancers, as well as those looking to change careers."
Tina DiFranco is a professor of the practice in the School of Health and Human Services within The University of Baltimore's College of Public Affairs. She serves also as executive director for the School of Health and Human Services, director for the B.S. in Health Management program at The Universities at Shady Grove, and director for the M.S. in Health Administration program.
DiFranco spent 20 years as a nurse after graduating from UMBC's School of Nursing. An experience with a patient that did not want to be placed on life support inspired DiFranco to pursue her dream of attending law school to advocate for patients' rights as an attorney. She continued working as a nurse while attending the Columbus School of Law at the Catholic University of America. After several years as a lawyer, DiFranco helped a colleague with a Health Systems Management class at UBalt and enjoyed teaching so much that she switched careers to come to the University as a professor.
