Introducing the University of Baltimore's "O! Say Can You Design a Poster?" competition—part of this September's Star Spangled Spectacular celebration marking the bicentennial of the Battle of Baltimore and Francis Scott Key's composition, "The Star-Spangled Banner."
Here's your chance to win $TK and have a beautiful print* of your work featured in an exhibition at the University of Baltimore. All you have to do is design a poster tied to the celebration—get inspired by checking out images and iconography from the War of 1812, or consider the inks and color palette that were available in those very different times. Capture the drama and the high stakes that played out in Baltimore during the legendary battle between American troops and the British.
The competition will be separated into two judging tracks: an open competition for Baltimore's professional graphic design community; and one set up exclusively for UBalt student designers. A grand prize winner from each track will be awarded by our committee of judges, featuring a $TK prize for the professionals and a $TK prize for the students. Second and third prizes also will be awarded in both categories. The posters from all winning entrants will be included in a special exhibition, which will open on Wednesday, Sept. 10 in the UBalt Student Center Gallery, 21 W. Mt. Royal Ave., and continue through [DATE].
Don't miss this opportunity to have your work judged by top designers and seen by hundreds, even thousands of folks from Baltimore and beyond! Your poster will be part of this historic recognition—an artistic representation of a singular event in the life of Baltimore.
Check out the competition rules to the right. Now, break out that imagination and go to work!
