Law School Professor Considers Effects of New Credit Card Reforms

Charles B. Shafer, professor in the University of Baltimore School of Law and a highly respected specialist in consumer law, will appear on the Thursday, March 4 edition of Maryland Public Television's Your Money & Business program to discuss new federal laws concerning credit cards. The show, hosted by Jeff Salkin, will air at 7:30 p.m. on MPT.
Shafer, past president of the Maryland Consumers Rights Coalition, will talk about how the new laws benefit consumers. He teaches and conducts research in the regulation of the consumer credit industry, including truth-in-lending statutes and holder-in-due course doctrine; as well as the regulation of consumer sales practices, contracts and collection practices.
