The University of Baltimore chapter of OUTLaw—a student organization that fosters acceptance and promotes education and awareness concerning the legal issues facing members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered community—will host an awards ceremony and reception on Wednesday, April 20 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The event (information on tickets listed below), "Celebrating Our Baltimore Area Trailblazers," will be held in the UB Student Center's Bogomolny Room, 21 W. Mt. Royal Ave. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.
In a year of sweeping change in state and federal policy concerning marriage equality, gay people serving in the military, employee benefits and so on, the C.O.B.A.L.T. event will recognize members of the Baltimore community who have made a positive impact in the lives of their fellow citizens.
"OutLaw looks forward to the chance to celebrate successes and look forward to the challenges ahead," the group said in a statement.
Tickets for the event are $5 for students with ID, and $10 for guests and members of the community. Tickets are available online and at the door. Additional information is available by sending at e-mail to OutLaw@ubalt.edu.
