The Hon. Judge John F. Gossart, Jr., J.D. '74, U.S. Immigration Judge and University of Baltimore School of Law adjunct professor, was profiled by The Federal Lawyer, the magazine of the Federal Bar Association, in recognition of his recent retirement from the bench. Gossart, who teaches imigration law at UB, practiced law for more than 40 years. He will continue to teach in retirement. The profile was co-authored by Nicole Whitaker, a third-year law student at UB.
Gossart's teaching and his practice of the law are rooted in two rules that he is known for writing on the chalkboard before every class: "Read the Law. Do Justice."
The School of Law congratulates Judge Gossart for his many years of service to the legal profession as well as to the school.
