The University of Baltimore's food drive to benefit the Maryland Food Bank and the Lawyers' Campaign Against Hunger is now under way. Phi Delta Phi, the international legal fraternity with a chapter in the UB School of Law, is leading a University-wide effort to collect 10,000 canned or nonperishable food items during the drive, which will continue until mid-December.
Nearly a half million Marylanders—one in seven state residents—have reported food insecurity; for children, that number increases to one in five.
The UB community's collective efforts will benefit children, seniors, and those in the Maryland Food Bank's fastest growing demographic of need: working adults and families who are just above the federal poverty line and are struggling to make ends meet.
You can help by dropping off your canned goods or nonperishable items at collection points in all of UB's main academic buildings.
