The University of Baltimore School of Law's clinical and part-time programs earned high marks in U.S. News & World Report's annual survey of law schools, which was released March 10. Overall, the law school's ranking climbed 13 spots, up to #122 from #135 last year.
UB's clinical program was ranked #17—in a tie with the clinical programs at the Harvard and Northeastern law schools—while UB's part-time J.D. program rose to #23 from last year’s #29.
In a letter to students, School of Law Dean Ronald Weich wrote: "In the past, I've expressed skepticism about the validity of U.S. News’ methodology and I continue to believe we should not put too much stock in unscientific measures of a school's 'reputation.' But I'm always happy to have our program assessed by objective criteria such as bar passage and post-graduate employment, where UB's performance remains strong. I am enormously proud of our students for exceeding expectations and outperforming their peers at many other schools."
