The University of Baltimore School of Law will celebrate its fifth annual Litigation Week March 10-15 with an exciting series seminars and sessions focusing on the future of litigation. From the future of jury selection to the new frontier of electronic discovery—questions and ideas about the most recent innovations and the most recent rule changes will be discussed and debated, in a series of discussions presented by the Stephen L. Snyder Center for Litigation Skills. Participants in this year's events include the American College of Trial Lawyers, the Baltimore City Police Academy, the United States Attorney for the District of Maryland, and Civic Frame. In addition, Maryland's Court of Special Appeals will be in working session to hear oral arguments in UB’s Venable Baetjer Howard Moot Court Room.
Unless otherwise indicated, all events will be held in the University's John and Frances Angelos Law Center, 1415 Maryland Ave., and are free and open to the public. (R.S.V.P. required; see details below.)
The week's events will conclude with the annual Legacy of Excellence in Litigation ceremony and dinner. This evening gala, which is black tie optional, will honor five School of Law alumni who have distinguished themselves with their exceptional achievements and enduring impact on the profession. In addition, the Charles Hamilton Houston Lifetime Achievement Award in Litigation will be awarded to a friend of the School of Law in recognition of his personal contribution to innovation in the law.
Details of the week's activities, including specifics for the Legacy of Excellence dinner, past award recipients, and R.S.V.P. contact information, are available here.
