Freshman Checklist

  1. Explore you proposed major
  2. Meet with your academic advisor
  3. Talk with a professor about your intended major
  4. Utilize tutoring and writing resources in the Achievement and Learning Center
  5. Orient yourself to campus buildings
  6. Join at least one student organization
  7. Be sure to use your UB email
  8. Meet with a career coach and discuss career assessment tools
  9. Lean how to calculate your Grade Point Average (GPA)
  10. If applicable, renew your FASFA by March 1st

  • Learn about academic behavior and classroom expectations at the collegiate level
  • Connect to a variety of support services and involvement opportunities
  • Identify the necessary skills to successfully navigate to degree completion
  • Begin a transformative educational experience
