Seating, Photos and Video

Make sure everyone can see you shine during and after graduation.

Special Seating Accommodations

If you or a guest needs special seating accommodations for the ceremony we will be happy to make arrangements. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide seat location information in advance, but we do our best to make sure graduation guests are seated together.

To secure seating accommodations, please complete the Seating Accommodation Form no later than Friday, Jan. 2.

Photo and Video Information

Professional photographers will be at the ceremony taking several photos of each graduate:

  • individual portraits just after you've received your diploma
  • during the ceremony as you receive your diploma
  • after the ceremony for candid shots.

These photographs are taken free of charge with no obligation to order.

How to Order Images: After the ceremony, you will receive an order form through email that details how to view and order photos.  Our photography service is Andrew Foster Photography, 443.519.3253.

Video and Live Stream Information

The UB commencement ceremony is webcast live so that graduates' family and friends may watch even if they cannot attend the actual ceremony.

How to Watch the Live Webcast: On the day of the ceremony, there will be a link on UB's home page that will activate just before the ceremony begins.

How to Watch the Recorded Webcast: A few days after the ceremony, there will be streaming video of the event on the website. In addition, the University's Office of Technology Services can provide a copy of the webcast in DVD format for a fee of $5 if you provide your own DVD disc.

How to Order a Professional Video: From processional to recessional, the entire commencement ceremony will be professionally recorded. Each graduate will be shown close up as they commence into the venue and as they accept their diploma. Information will be sent to graduates on how to order this DVD, which will cost $35.
