Staff and Faculty
Trained in mentorship tactics, our faculty and staff mentors develop mentoring styles that meld the personal and professional. Once paired with student(s), mentors connect with mentees, flexing their skills in empathy, communication and leadership.
Mentors help students to:
- Confidently transition into the UBalt community
- Maximize use of campus resources
- Develop their sense of belonging at UBalt and build purposeful networks tailored to their goals and interests
Benefits of being a UBalt Connects mentor:
- Help students reach their potential
- Building rapport with and gain insight into the UBalt student body
- Improve interpersonal, leadership, and listening skills

Mentor time commitment:
- Faculty and staff volunteers are matched with one (or more) UBalt student(s) for the academic year.
- Volunteers are expected to meet (in-person or virtually) with their mentee at least 2-3 times per semester or as agreed upon.
