The Program Administrator will execute complex administrative and financial responsibilities, as well as new programmatic initiatives focused on faculty work with diverse populations for the Bank of America Center for Excellence in Learning, Teaching and Technology (also known as CELTT); serves as administrator responsible for the Brotherhood, Mentoring, Academics, Leadership, and Enterprise Program (also known as the B-MALE Program). In addition to CELTT responsibilities, maintains a network of mentors, peer mentors, campus advocates and campus allies to help foster an environment where male students of color are supported by peers and mentors and provided with a variety of academic and social opportunities as a means to improve their academic performance, persistence, and graduation rates.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business, Psychology, Sociology, Education, Political Science or other related field/discipline required. At least two years of student advising/ counseling experience in a higher education environment also required. Experience working directly with faculty on pedagogical approaches, workshops, or instructional design of courses required.
Understanding of proven retention, persistence and matriculation strategies specific to the needs of men of color, as well as knowledge of counseling/advising techniques, standards and practices of student services within institutions of higher education. Demonstrated ability to maintain timely and efficient communication in a professional manner. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are necessary as well as a demonstrated ability to build effective and collaborative working relationships within the university setting. Solid conflict resolution skills and the ability to navigate sensitive situations. Demonstrated commitment to social justice and equity in higher education. Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with FERPA ethics. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective and collaborative relationships across campus, and demonstrated experience and understanding of team building and collaboration.
Microsoft Office Suite, budgeting, financial management with an ERP. Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Public Administration, Business, Psychology, Sociology, Education, Political Science or other related field/discipline preferred. At least five years of student advising/ counseling experience in a higher education environment also preferred. Prior professional experience with Black male achievement initiatives in higher education. Experience working with diverse student populations, experience in program development, implementation and assessment. Demonstrated experience and effectiveness working with or advising African American students in a higher education setting.
