The Robert G. Merrick School of Business at the University of Baltimore invites applications for the position of Assistant Dean for Graduate Business Academic and Career Services. Candidates with background and experience in the areas of Admissions, Enrollment, Marketing and Promotion and/or Career Services Management are encouraged to apply. The position is available beginning July 1, 2016 and is subject to final budget approval by the President of the University.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a minimum of an MBA or specialized Masters in a related business field as well as four years of progressively responsible and professional experience in business or academia post-Master’s degree. Applicants with Masters or Ph.D. degrees in business fields from AACSB accredited universities are preferred. Six years of professional experience in business or academia with a minimum of three years of experience in an academic environment also preferred. The ideal candidate will have experience in an academic environment with knowledge of PeopleSoft or other student information systems. Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent oral, written and electronic communication skills; delivery of exceptional customer service; an ability to manage, collect and analyze data; an ability to use and leverage social media; skill in developing communication materials for inclusion on the website, as well as a demonstrated acumen with systems, technology, and project management skills.
Reporting to the Associate Dean of the Merrick School of Business, this position is responsible for directing all areas pertaining to academic advising and student services for graduate students. This individual interfaces closely with the Admissions and Records Offices, department chairs, graduate program directors, faculty, students, and other constituents of the University of Baltimore. In addition to implementing and developing strategies to enhance the academic operations of the MBA and specialized graduate programs, this individual must make independent judgments and decisions, and act independently on behalf of the Deans. This position requires an understanding of academic policies, a desire to serve the graduate students of the Merrick School of Business and assist with their career development and management in partnership with the University’s Career Services Office, and an ability to collect and analyze data. The individual must have the ability to establish an effective rapport with students, faculty and staff. The position will represent the program both internally and externally and will collaborate with admissions and the Dean’s Office on recruitment initiatives; including managing open houses, information sessions and webinars, and assisting the Merrick School Director of Corporate Partnerships with corporate outreach initiatives to promote graduate programs.
