The Center’s mission is to connect emerging and established entrepreneurs to resources and opportunities to accelerate sustainable revenue and growth. Job Summary:
The manager of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CEI) is responsible for managing the CEI to maximize its overall impact on the Baltimore region and the small businesses located therein. The manager represents the Merrick School’s entrepreneurship program to local government, the business community, and prospective and current students. The manager is responsible for developing educational programs and securing sufficient funding for the Center and its programs. Reporting directly to the Dean, the Manager co-chairs the CEI Advisory Board to build strong relationships with and engage the advisory board as advocates and collaborators in growing the center.
Qualifications:
Baccalaureate degree in Business or related field/discipline required. Three years of relevant and progressively responsible administrative, accounting and/or program coordination experience in an educational or professional setting; and demonstrated knowledge of the overall business climate, key business contacts, venture capital markets, and other areas critical to entrepreneurship also required.
Applicants with a Master’s degree in business fields from AACSB accredited universities are preferred. Five years of related experience that shows progressively increasing responsibilities in entrepreneurial activities such as venture capital, incubators, or business start-ups also preferred. The ideal candidate will have experience in an academic environment with knowledge of strategic and operational management, educational programming and outreach and business development and financial management. Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent oral, written and electronic communication skills; delivery of exceptional customer service; an ability to manage, an ability to effectively collaborate with multiple constituents, as well as a demonstrated acumen with systems, technology, and project management skills.
