Work Schedule: the number of hours worked each week will vary depending on the number of cases assigned to the Clinical Research Interviewer. Clinical Research Interviewers will work up to 40 hours per week.
The University of Baltimore is seeking two Clinical Research Interviewers to conduct in-home interviews of elderly, medically fragile and disabled individuals for studies to assess individuals’ experience with services and support received. Interviewers will receive training on administering a questionnaire and in specific procedures to be followed in conducting in-home interviews. In-home interviews will be conducted throughout the state of Maryland. Interviewers will obtain and record data on questionnaires on laptop computers or iPads, ensuring accurate and complete answers to survey questions. The Clinical Research Interviewers will be required to drive to the interviews throughout Maryland. The contractual positions are grant-funded and contingent on the continued availability of funding. Current funding ends on June 30, 2017 unless terminated earlier. The Center will consider both full time and part time applicants.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct in-home interviews of elderly, medically fragile or disabled individuals by administering questionnaires following specific procedures;
• Record interview data on laptop computers or tablets accurately and completely;
• Contact the individual, their representative or responsible party by telephone to schedule interview; and
• Complete and submit travel expense reports for reimbursement.
Required Minimum Qualifications
Education: High School diploma or GED. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Experience: Three years of experience conducting elite or clinical interviewing. Graduate education may be substituted for experience on a year to year basis.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to work without supervision.
• Ability to pay attention to detail.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and tact.
• Ability to maintain poise and courtesy under pressure.
• Outgoing, sensitive, people-oriented individuals who are comfortable working with the elderly or with people with physical disabilities or chronic medical conditions.
• Strong computer skills and excellent typing or data entry skills are required.
• Nursing, clinical social work, or other medical/clinical background is highly preferred.
• Ability to work weekend hours on occasion depending on when respondents are available for interviews
• Valid state driver’s license is required.
• A background check is required.
