Achievement and Learning Services at Langsdale Library seeks a Learning Services Coordinator to develop, implement, oversee and provide learning and performance support at the University of Baltimore. The Learning Coordinator supports classes, cohorts of students, and individuals with a focus on skills and strategies that promote student success.
ALS enriches student learning through peer and professional tutoring, a writing center, workshops, supplemental instruction, and academic coaching. ALS is part of Langsdale Library, a primary location for information access, learning, and knowledge creation at the University of Baltimore. Langsdale cultivates knowledge creation within members of campus, the Baltimore metropolitan area, and beyond.

• Develop, implement, and oversee peer coaching and study group program. Assess outcomes and report results. Hire, train, and supervise student employee coaches and study group facilitators
• Design and develop programming and resources supporting academic skills development of specific populations, in consultation with faculty, directors, and deans.
• Manage peer coaching programs that assist students adjusting to university academic expectations or needing additional learning and study skills support.
• Develop Supplemental Instructor and Embedded Tutoring Program. Design and deliver training for students and staff who provide learning support.
• Assess outcomes. Analyze data to target department outreach; assist in coordinating outreach.
• Coordinate department assessment activities. Develop outcomes assessment and metrics; oversee data collection and analysis of programs; coordinate between various units within ALC
• Develop and present workshops and in-class presentations. Determine student and faculty needs; deliver or arrange delivery of presentations related to study skills
• Provide ongoing professional development for students, staff of academic coaches, and supplemental instruction leaders
Required Education and Experience
Education: Master’s degree in psychology, education, sociology, counseling, human development, or related discipline.
Experience: Three years of progressively responsible experience delivering, developing, and coordinating programs that support student academic adjustment to higher education. Supervisory and assessment experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
Tutoring experience, teaching experience, learning center experience; grant writing; experience with online delivery of content; familiarity with student development theory; experience building programs that promote self-efficacy and perseverance.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge and demonstrated experience working in position-related activities with first-generation students and a diverse student population. Knowledge of learning and human development theories and practical application; demonstrated excellence in teaching and/or training. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills. Familiarity with survey instruments and research models. Works with minimal supervision. Adapts procedures, processes, and techniques to meet new needs. Stays current with emerging technology and trends. Position requires Infrequent Saturdays and weekends
