We’re recruiting for multiple Contingent (contractual) housekeepers. These positions have tuition remission benefits and paid leave benefits. We need to hire responsible staff with at least one year of steady work experience with positive supervisory references, positive job performance, a successful track record in reporting to work consistently and on time, and a demonstrated commitment to supporting coworkers and supervisors in an effort to help the organization succeed. A high school diploma or GED is also required.
Candidates invited to interview will be required to provide professional references – including supervisory references – at campus interviews, and then references will be checked before selection decisions are made. In addition, candidates invited to interview who advance in the interview process will be required to give consent for background investigations. Background investigation results will be reviewed before selection decisions are made and before offers are extended. Candidates selected for employment may be subject to medical inquires and/or medical examinations to determine ability to perform the job.
Housekeepers serve a critical function to the University in that they are primarily responsible for keeping the University clean so that it is an attractive place for students, staff, faculty, donors, and other visitors. Our housekeepers maintain building interiors, ensuring cleanliness, orderliness and attractive conditions are maintained in assigned areas according to set tasks and frequencies. Staff may be required to move furniture and equipment. Duties and responsibilities include:
• Cleans assigned areas by washing furnishings, windows, tile, fixtures, equipment and floors. Vacuums, dusts, and polishes specified areas and/or furnishings. Sanitizes and disinfects bathroom areas.
• Gathers and transports refuse from assigned areas to appropriate disposal locations.
• Inspects physical condition of assigned areas; submits requests to appropriate personnel regarding repairs, replacements, furnishings and relocation of equipment.
• Requests cleaning materials and supplies from designated areas; mixes cleaning solutions according to specifications, loads and transports service cart with required materials and supplies to designated work areas.
• Operates standard cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, buffers and mops.

In this position you must have the ability: to read, write and perform arithmetic calculations; to operate assigned tools and housekeeping equipment; to work with chemicals and cleaning solutions; to understand and follow directions; to lift and transport supplies and refuse; to wear and work in personal protective equipment.

•You can use the first day of the month wherever dates are required.
•Click the plus sign to the left of "References" to enter two professional references.
•After you enter your education information and references, click “Save,” then click “Next.”

•After you enter this information, click “Save,” then click “Next.”
4. Online Questionnaire/Application Questionnaire: Answer the questions requiring a yes or no response. After you answer them, click “Submit.” This leads you to the Submit Online Application page.
