The Student Conduct Case Manager provides assistance to the Associate Director of Student Support by coordinating policies, procedures, and programs related to student conduct, behavior, and personal concerns. This position’s primary responsibility is to implement the university conduct program in a manner that encourages students to acknowledge responsibility for their actions and assist them in learning behaviors which will benefit their success as students and members of the larger community. The Case Manager is responsible for the day–to-day operations of the student conduct process and case management of Compass, and CARE concerns. This position serves as the primary investigation and adjudication for lower level Academic Integrity and Code of Conduct concerns.
Specific duties include:
• Manages a caseload that includes university Code of Conduct, Academic Integrity policy concerns, student complaints and Compass/CARE (students at-risk) concerns. Conducts related information gathering, meetings, and hearings.
• Communicates professionally and in a timely manner with various audiences. Maintains records and exercises appropriate confidentiality.
• Serves as a university resource for students, faculty, and staff regarding the student conduct process, university policies/processes, and the Office of Student Support.
• Coordinates the recruitment, selection, and training of student staff.
• Develops educational and marketing materials for students, faculty, staff, and parents regarding the Office of Student Support and its functions. Coordinates social media presence.
• Provides formal and informal opportunities for student conflict management and resolution.
• Analyzes and reports upon student conduct patterns and trends at the university and across the higher education landscape. Supports and encourages best practices.
Required Education and Experience
Education: Baccalaureate degree in Education, Counseling, Conflict Management, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or other field/discipline related to the responsibilities of the position.
Experience: Two years’ experience with student conduct, conflict resolution, education, student affairs, residence life, legal affairs, criminal justice, or other related area.
Preferred Education and Experience
Education: Master’s degree in Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration, Counseling, Conflict Management, Applied Psychology, Criminal Justice, or another field/discipline related to the responsibilities of the position.
Experience: Two years’ experience planning, executing and evaluating training and programs; providing mediation, facilitation, conflict coaching, restorative justice and/or other conflict management certifications/experience. Demonstrated ability to utilize website content management programs and knowledge of design software and recording technology.
