The Software Developer Unit Supervisor will report to the Network Operations Center within the W/B HIDTA and report to the Associate Deputy Director and Chief Architect. This position will be responsible for supervision of the Software Development Unit. Position is contingent upon funding.
** Due to the nature of the work, must possess the ability to obtain a Secret level government clearance.
** The incumbent must be available for all emergencies, at all times. Significant or special events may occur and may include crises or high-level investigations related to terrorism or criminal activities. Additionally, events such as a computer virus situation may require the knowledge and skills of the incumbent during hours other than normal work hours.

Duties include:
• Implementation and organization of the agile software development processes.
• Working with Software Development Unit (SDU) staff to plan and prioritize backlogs.
• Providing stakeholders and requestors with timelines and status updates.
• Working with the Chief Architect to design software solutions and provide resource allocation.
• Oversee the development of ODMAP, Case Explorer, PMP and other SDU projects.
• Write and maintain technical documentation.
• Provide personal support – approve leave, timesheets, conflict resolution, and information dissemination.
• Act as a team member to provide technical leadership.
• Understand and execute the software development lifecycle: Feasibility, Requirements, Analysis, Design, Development, Test, Deploy, and Train.
• Supervise development staff to ensure architecture guidelines and technical roadmaps are being followed.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required. Master’s degree in computer science or related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience working with software development teams and 2 years of experience working as a senior/lead developer required. Preferred: 5 years of experience working as a senior/lead developer or similar experience working as a manager/supervisor of a software development team.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: The individual in this position must be able to develop software using the Microsoft.NET Development platform. Must have ability to:
• develop software using C# programming language
• develop web applications using HTML
• lead an Agile team and work within the methodology.
• create technical documentation and process diagrams
• guide, coach and mentor software developers
• write SQL queries against a relational database
• design relational databases in Microsoft SQL Server
• appropriately apply W/B HIDTA Directives, as well as interpret and employ the Directives of the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP)
