ODMAP Intelligence Analyst

This position will report to Management Coordination within the Washington/Baltimore High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (W/B HIDTA) and report to the ODMAP Program Manager and Deputy Director. This position will be responsible for support of ODMAP through conducting analytical and intelligence functions.
Duties include:
• Research databases in order to find information
• Navigate open source intelligence
• Prepare graphs, charts, tables, maps, and other illustrations from collected data
• Develop methods and practices for conducting work
• Ability to self-motivate and work independently

Key Responsibilities:
Intelligence Analysis
• Assist in identifying new end users and defining their intelligence needs
• Collect, organize and analyze data
• Utilize intelligence specific software program
• Determine suspicious or potential criminal activity or associations
• Identify leads for follow up investigations
• Conduct link analysis and identify connections or associations
• Conduct telephone toll analysis
• Identify and develop undocumented areas of investigations and identify leads for follow up criminal investigations for W/B HIDTA law enforcement agencies and initiatives
• Conduct research on criminal investigations
• Assist in identification of criminal trends
Reports and Presentations
• Prepare digital charts, graphs, tables, maps and other visual aids for case support and intelligence briefings
• Develop and prepare comprehensive reports and bulletins for use by law enforcement agency personnel in planning the deployment of resources for the prevention and suppression of criminal activities
Law Enforcement Liaison
• Establish and maintain liaison with drug investigator and criminal intelligence officers from various law enforcement agencies and HIDTA Initiatives
• Attend intra/inter-agency meetings, conferences to gather and share information
• Attending continuing education/training opportunities
Training
• Provide training to assist in the transfer of analytical skills to new HIDTA analysts, initiative personnel and area law enforcement
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or related field is required.
Experience: Minimum three years of experience conducting intelligence and analytical functions.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
The individual in this position must be able to communicate effectively with a diverse national user group as well as effectively manage evolving and revolving projects. Knowledge, skills, and abilities required but not limited to:
1. Due to the nature of the work, must be able to obtain a Secret level government clearance
2. Specific intelligence analyst training from law enforcement or an accredited organization
3. Knowledge in federal regulations regarding the collection and dissemination of intelligence information (28CFR, part 23)
4. Ability to receive ANACAPA and/or Alpha Group Training Certification
5. Knowledge of the intelligence cycle and criminal investigations
6. Knowledge in the collection, analyzing, and dissemination of criminal intelligence information
7. Proficiency and demonstrated skills in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access and Microsoft Access
8. Understanding and demonstrated experience with the Intelligence Cycle
9. Proficiency and demonstrated skills of current and popular analytic software
10. Proficiency and demonstrated skills in current crime analysis software and presentation techniques
