The University of Baltimore is establishing a new Center for Criminal Justice Reform (CCJR) and is seeking a Staff Director to lead this exciting new Center. With its mission to support community-driven efforts to improve the criminal legal system, the Center will bring together UB students, faculty, members of the community and decision-makers to examine how the criminal legal system currently functions and to collaborate and propose reforms that will reduce systemic inequality and promote justice. The Staff Director will direct the day-to-day operations of the Center, help shape its strategic vision, manage and develop its grants, and convene and work with experts and stakeholders to develop fresh ideas, partnerships, and initiatives aimed at reducing both crime and the harm that the criminal system too often imposes on underserved and impoverished communities.
The Staff Director will collaborate with the CCJR Faculty Director and lead development and strategic planning initiatives for the CCJR. The Staff Director will work with students and UB faculty in research, scholarship and strategic initiatives, oversee CCJR’s law reform projects, conferences, symposia, and any trainings for judges, court personnel, attorneys, law students, and other interested constituents. The Staff Director will oversee the drafting of CCJR publications and media submissions, including maintaining a robust social media presence. The Staff Director will also support the development of collaborative relationships with funders and other reform partners at the national, state, and local levels.
