Within the Office of the Provost, the Office of Sponsored Research (OSR) is the office of record for all grants and contracts between external sponsors of academic projects and University faculty and staff. Proposals submitted to these agencies must be reviewed by OSR to assure compliance with University policy, as well as state and federal regulations. OSR also reviews budgets to verify that all appropriate charges are included in the cost calculations. Finally, the office oversees the activities of the Institutional Review Board (IRB). Under the supervision of the Director of Sponsored Research and Faculty Development, the incumbent develops and implements strategies supporting sponsored research activity at UB. This includes both pre- and post-award responsibilities, such as identifying funding opportunities, proposal budget development, monitoring of non-financial compliance, effort reporting, invoicing and collections, and providing administrative and closeout support to our research efforts. The position also oversees the human subjects research application process and assists the Director in policy development and sponsored research training programs for the UB community.
Education and Experience: Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related fields and at least three years of progressively responsible experience working with contracts, grants and/or compliance related environment. Certified Research Administrator (CRA) credential, experience in an academic research administration setting and knowledge of electronic research administration systems and/or PeopleSoft are preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: A working knowledge of federal regulations relating to federal grants and contracts (OMB Circulars A-21, A-110, A-133), including awareness of the Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200), is required. In addition, excellent communication, organization and customer service skills, proficiency in the MS Office suite, including Access and Excel, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously are a must.

•After you enter your education information and references, click “Save,” then click “Next.”

4. Online Questionnaire/Application Questionnaire: Answer the questions requiring a yes or no response. After you answer them, click “Submit.” This leads you to the Submit Online Application page.
