The University of Baltimore —The School of Criminal Justice in the College of Public Affairs invites applications for a Cyber Forensics (Open Rank) faculty position. A non-tenure track, contractual “Executive-in-Residence” would be possible for a senior practitioner with substantial experience and an appropriate terminal degree. The appointment will begin in January 2021 and is contingent upon final budgetary approval.
The University of Baltimore, located in downtown Baltimore, is part of the University System of Maryland serving a diverse urban professional community. The School of Criminal Justice orients its academic priorities toward integration with the real world, capitalizing on geographic location in Baltimore, a real city that acts as an extended classroom and provides research opportunities. The School offers a B.S. and M.S. degree in Criminal Justice each certified by the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences and B.S. in Forensic Studies – Trace Evidence, M.S Forensic Science – Cyber Investigations, and a new B.S. in Cyber Forensics (Fall 2020). Candidates for this position must hold at least a master’s degree, with a preference for those with a Ph.D. in Forensic Science, Cyber Forensics, Cyber Investigations, Cybersecurity, or related field, with professional experience in Cybersecurity/Forensics, and/or Cyber Forensic Investigations. Applicants will be expected to teach one or more of the following courses, including but not limited to Fundamentals of Cyber Security, Operating System Forensics, Mobile Forensics, Network Forensics, Fundamentals of Cryptography, Ethical Hacking, Forensic Investigation, Forensic Data Analysis. In addition, candidates should have a record of scholarly activities appropriate to their rank and clearly demonstrate the potential for quality university instruction and service to their profession and the university. This position requires that the person hired be an active member of the faculty who contributes to program development, governance, and sustainability. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
