The Division of Applied Behavioral Sciences at the University of Baltimore invites applications for a senior faculty member to serve as chair of the Division beginning either August 2012 or January 2013.  The initial appointment as Chair is for a three year term.  Subsequent terms are determined by faculty election.  The Chair has a standard 5 course per year teaching load.  Course release may be available to support curriculum and program development and research.  The Chair participates in planning and policy making for the college, and, as a senior member of the faculty, is expected to participate in leadership roles in the College and University.

Candidates must have an earned doctoral degree in psychology and an established and progressive record of scholarship in the candidate’s area of expertise.  The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to undergraduate education, a record of effective teaching, and a record of service commensurate with tenure at the rank of associate or full professor.

Preference will be given to the candidate with experience in program development and assessment.  Prior experience as a program director or department chair is highly desirable, as is experience mentoring junior faculty.

The area of specialization for this position is open, though special consideration will be given to candidates with expertise in industrial/organizational psychology, research methods and statistics, developmental psychology, or physiological psychology.
