The Division of Science, Information Arts and Technologies of the University of Baltimore invites applications for a full-time, tenured/tenure track faculty position in mathematics (open rank and tenure). Successful candidates will have a Ph.D. in mathematics, applied mathematics, or related field, from an accredited institution with at least three years of relevant teaching experience.
Candidates must have a strong commitment to teaching and a demonstrated ability to instruct and develop a range of courses in mathematics and applied mathematics. Applicants must be able to provide evidence of an active research agenda and creative professional practices appropriate for the rank of the position. Additionally, the candidate should demonstrate experience with advancing mathematics through addressing course (re-)design and assessment and building connections across the curriculum from developmental through general education to upper-level mathematics and discipline-specific courses. Salary is competitive; determinations will be informed by qualifications and experience.
The Division of Science, Information Arts and Technologies offers three bachelor’s degrees, three post baccalaureate certificates, and two graduate programs. Teaching responsibilities will lie primarily in courses that support the various programs in SIAT, such as Information Technology, in addition to general education mathematics offerings, and interdisciplinary and honors courses. Knowledge and interest in developmental mathematics pedagogy as well as contemporary understanding of mathematics curriculum in higher education is a plus.
