Marketing Associate

Salary: $25 per hour

Description of Duties: The Schaefer Center for Public Policy, a non-partisan, applied research unit with the University of Baltimore’s College of Public Affairs is seeking a part-time marketing associate to market the Center's professional education and consulting services to government and nonprofit executives and managers throughout the state of Maryland. The primary responsibility will be to market the Maryland Certified Public Manager® Program.

The primary duties include:
Developing prospect lists; marketing the Schaefer Center's professional development, research, and consulting services to government and nonprofit decision makers; and developing content for marketing materials targeted to government and nonprofit sectors. In-person visits with prospective clients are expected.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Knowledge of Maryland’s government and nonprofit sectors
• Proven marketing and sales ability
• Excellent organizational ability
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Minimum Required Education and Experience
• A Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public administration, or related field from an accredited college or university.

Preferred Experience
The ideal candidate will have experience with or substantial knowledge of the government and nonprofit organizations in Maryland.

Licenses, Registrations and Certifications
• The employee selected for this position will be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle and driving throughout Maryland. Employees selected for this position will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the state of Maryland and have daily access to a reliable means of transportation that allows them to drive throughout the state of Maryland.
