As a learning community, its mission is to transform and empower students, while remaining true to its legacy of serving non-traditional and first-generation college students. The key to student success is an intellectual and professional learning environment that brings theory to practice.  As evidence of progress toward that vision, the Merrick School has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as providing one of the nation's best undergraduate business programs and part-time M.B.A. programs.

The Merrick School is comprised of the Departments of Accounting, Finance and Economics, Information Systems and Decision Science, Management and International Business, and Marketing and Entrepreneurship.  The School offers three baccalaureate and six masters degree programs, including the UB/Towson M.B.A.  The School also offers one undergraduate certificate program and five graduate business certificate programs.  The Merrick School enrolls more than 1,242 undergraduate business students and more than 848 graduate business students and has 51 regular faculty as well as part time instructors with subject area expertise from Baltimore-Washington area businesses, government agencies, non-profit organizations, and arts communities.

The successful candidate will possess outstanding leadership skills coupled with the ability to serve as an articulate and zealous advocate for the School within the Higher Education community, locally, nationally and internationally. The Dean will promote excellence in the teaching, research, scholarship and service activities of the School.  The Dean will play the central role in fundraising for the School and is responsible for developing external and internal relations across the UB community and beyond.
