Surplus and Excess Property
From time to time, property owned by the University of Baltimore may be determined by the University’s Property Control Unit to be Surplus Property. University staff and faculty are cautioned to notify Property Control before disposing of any item with a property bar-code tag on it. If you have any questions about disposing of an item(s), please contact Property Control at 410-837-5714.
Any academic or administrative unit at UBalt may request property listed as Surplus Property for use by their unit of UBalt (not for personal use or personal possession). The property will be available on a first come, first served basis. The property is available at no charge, but you must make arrangements with Auxiliary Enterprises to have the property moved from its current location. In some cases there may be a charge from Auxiliary Enterprises or Facilities Management to move the property.
Property that is not claimed within two weeks will normally be declared Excess Property. The University will dispose of Excess Property by sale, donation, scrap, or other means at the discretion of Procurement and Materials Management, typically by listing the items on GovDeals auction site.
All Surplus Property and Excess Property offered for sale is offered AS IS, WHERE IS. THE UNIVERSITY MAKES NO WARRANTY, INCLUDING WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR OF THE CONDITION OF THE ITEMS.
The successful bidder will be responsible for the cost of packing, loading and removal (F.O.B. origin).
All proceeds from the sale of excess property will be deposited into a UBalt reserve fund (miscellaneous revenue account).
