Dr. Shaun Harper presents on "Race-Conscious Educational Practices: Strategies for Increasing Minority Student Engagement". Dr. Harper is a nationally recognized expert in teaching and learning with a special focus on educational success among African-American male students. Dr. Harper shared his experiences with the effectiveness of high-impact teaching practices among underrepresented student groups and provide us with the opportunity to develop action plans tailored to address our own institutional needs.

NEH Application-writing Workshop – March 11, 2011
The University of Baltimore and the National Endowment for the Humanities present an application-writing workshop for faculty in the humanities, featuring the Maryland Humanities Council. The workshop will be held March 11, 2011 from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM at the University of Baltimore John and Frances Angelos Law Center, located at 1415 Mount Royal Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21201. The workshop will feature an overview of NEH and MHC grant programs, mock panel sessions and individual meetings with NEH program officers by appointment. There is NO COST to participants to register. This is a regional workshop, open to faculty from neighboring institutions. Lunch will be served.
