E-mail Through Mobile Devices

Use the settings below to setup your mobile device for UBalt email.

Server Settings

The following settings can be used for tablets and smart phones to connect to UBalt email if your device is able to connect to Exchange/Activesync accounts:

Email or Account Type: Exchange
Email address: your UBalt email address
Server: outlook.office365.com
Username: netID@ubalt.edu
SSL: on

Android Settings

E-mail: your UBalt email address
Domain:user name: netID@ubalt.edu
Password: your netID password
Server: outlook.office365.com
SSL: set to ON

Note: Some android models may require wireless to be turned off prior to account setup.

* Your username for all Office 365 services is netID@ubalt.edu.

For iPhone\iPad (iOS 7.0 or newer):

Go to Settings
Tap on “Mail, Contacts, and Calendars”
Tap on Add Account
Select “Exchange” from the list
Enter the Following:

Email: Your email address (ex: your.name@ubalt.edu)
Password: Your NetID Password
Description: UBalt (Optional)

Tap on Next, Then enter the following:

Server: outlook.office365.com
Domain: (none)
Username: yourNetID@ubalt.edu
Password: Your NetID Password

Tap on Next, Then enable features relevant to you:

Mail: Accessing your email in Mail (Recommended for Students\Staff\Faculty)
Contacts: Load the UBalt directory into your Contacts (Recommended for Staff\Faculty)
Calendars: Access your UBalt Calendar in your Calendars (Recommended for Staff\Faculty)
Reminders: Sync your to-do lists and tasks into Reminders (Only enable if you use Outlook tasks)
Notes: Your PC outlook notes available in Notes (Only enable if you have existing notes in Outlook that you need)

Tap on Save and you are set!

Tip for Defaults: In the Mail, Contacts, Calendars menu you can scroll down to check your Default Account for each of the features listed above. It is normally recommended to set the Default Account for Contacts to a personal account (Such as "iCloud"). Should you ever leave the university, you will not lose new contacts since they are all saved to your own personal account.
