Every college and university lays claim to a defined set of goals for students, alumni, and the larger community. At the University of Baltimore, our focus is on student success. From classroom participation and the individual pursuit of knowledge, to involvement in extracurricular activities and personal passions, as well as the recognition that the student's network of peers and mentors will benefit him or her from their first day at UBalt until long after graduation, we strive to ensure that every student achieves each and every goal.
It's right there in our Mission Statement: UBalt offers a "career-focused education for aspiring and current professionals, providing the region with highly educated leaders who make distinctive contributions to the broader community."

Institutions also express their values, in the belief that a community of teachers and learners shares a special obligation to something beyond themselves. As an urban institution with a long, storied history in the City of Baltimore, UBalt has built its values on both place and time: We are civic-minded, because we offer broad expertise on city affairs. We are cognizant of change, because we think deeply about and believe in the power of justice, self-expression, history, economics, and public service. Together, our community is confident that we can transform lives.
