Understanding Anticipated Financial Aid
Financial aid that has been awarded but has not been received and credited to your account is listed as anticipated. Anticipated aid includes UBalt scholarships/grants, federal funding, state funding and alternative loans. Also, anticipated aid is listed as estimated amount of how much aid you may receive based on current enrollment.
Anticipated aid amounts are determined by your financial aid office and are reflected on your account on Student Center, under Account Summary. The Office of Financial Aid updates anticipated aid information weekly.
Common examples on why accepted aid will NOT be listed as anticipated aid:
- Missing Loan Paperwork (i.e. the Master Promissory Note (MPN) and/or the Entrance Counseling). The “To Do List” on Student Center will display the missing loan paperwork.
- Missing Donor Profile Form for UBalt Foundation Scholarships.
- Insufficient enrollment
- Loss of eligibility
In general, anticipated aid is a sum of awards that you’ve accepted as part of your financial aid package that is scheduled to disburse based on the Financial Aid Calendar.
Census Date
In accordance with federal regulations, the Office of Financial Aid will finalize federal, state, and institutional student aid awards based on the enrollment status as of the Census Date
.
Typically,
the Census Date
is
the
next business day after the add/drop period
for both Fall and Spring semesters. If a class is added after the Census Date, the credits will count toward financial aid eligibility for Federal Direct Loans only.
**The Census Date for Spring 2025 is February 3, 2025**
If you are not enrolled in your career’s anticipated enrollment in degree-applicable coursework by the end of the add/drop period, you may not be eligible for the financial aid awarded, or you may only be eligible for a portion of the award. Please refer to the specific enrollment requirements for each source of financial aid in the Understanding Anticipated Financial Aid, located above, or University of Baltimore Adjustment to Aid Guide, located below.
