The 2019–2020 FAFSA form launches October 1, 2018.
Students who will be attending the University of Baltimore between July 1, 2019, and June 30, 2020, should complete their FAFSA form as soon as possible, beginning October 1, 2018, in order to maximize the amount of financial aid you may receive.
Here are some important deadlines related to your FAFSA form:
- March 1st, 2019, Maryland Higher Education Commission Deadline
- March 1 st , 2019, UB priority deadline for consideration of UB institutional awards
The 2019–20 FAFSA form requires 2017 income and tax information
If you have already filed your 2017 taxes, you can transfer your tax information directly into the FAFSA form using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool (IRS DRT). Using the IRS DRT provides a fast and accurate way to enter your tax return information.

Avoid Processing Delays
Please fill out the FAFSA form carefully. Mistakes on the form can hinder the processing of your financial aid. Therefore, be sure to take your time and enter information—including your name, date of birth, social security number, etc.—correctly and completely.
Identification Requirements
- Social Security number
- It must be entered exactly as it appears on your Social Security card
- Include suffixes and your middle name/initial
- Driver’s license number
- Provide if you have a valid driver’s license
- Alien registration number
- Provide if you’re an eligible non-citizen
2017 Federal Tax Information

- Adjusted gross income
- Earnings from work
- Income tax paid
- Automatically transfer your completed tax information
- Recommend if you’ve already completed your taxes
- Easiest and most accurate method
- Can be used by both students and parents

Dependent Students
- Provide parent(s) name and social security number
- It must be entered exactly as it appears on their Social Security card
- Include suffixes and their middle name/initial
Independent Married Students
- Provide spouse’s name and social security number
- It must be entered exactly as it appears on their Social Security card
- Include suffixes and their middle name/initial
Other Requirements
- Birth dates of everyone you are listing on your FAFSA
- Untaxed income or investments
- If this applies to you, gather all related records
- Make sure you have an FSA ID
- Used to electronically sign your FAFSA form
