Experience The University of Baltimore from the perspective of our students.
Almas Younis, undergraduate student
Almas, a first-generation college student, reflects on how her first year helped to shape her decision to pursue her major. UBalt's location in the heart of Baltimore affords students a vibrant and diverse educational experience. Her advice to incoming students is to keep an open mind, join organizations and be curious.
Opeyemi Thomas, transfer student
Ope shares how transferring to UBalt--and the many resources available to students--changed the course of his career. As a Ratcliffe Entrepreneurship Fellow at UBalt's Merrick School of Business he was able to develop and launch a parking app, Roadi. "At UBalt, I was able to see myself develop into that business owner, that entrepreneur, I wanted to be," he says.
Chelsea Corpening, graduate student
Chelsea keeps busy balancing a career, an internship and the pursuit of a graduate degree in Human Services Administration. UBalt's flexible course offerings allow her to design a schedule that fits her life. "The people who graduate from here really do good for the community, and I really wanted to be a part of that," she says.
Nick Owens, doctoral student
Nick always had a passion for computers and technology, but only as a hobby—until a class on information architecture spurred his decision to pursue his doctorate in information and interaction design. "My UBalt experience has been one that’s really allowed for a diverse number of transferable job skills," he says. "Whatever you learn here is going to be applicable out there.”
