A New Community—Yours

The great thing about UB is that it’s a real academic community. We take time to get to know each other, build relationships and provide support so you can graduate on time and get started on your career.

Right away, you’ll discover that a lot of what goes on here is focused on you to help you get oriented, build better study skills and equip you with the resources you’ll need to do your best.

  • Our Achievement and Learning Center offers one-on-one tutoring and coaching on a variety of academic skills.
  • Our Career Center provides career counseling, paid internships, access to on-campus recruiting, online job listings, workshops and career fairs.
  • Our modern, fully equipped Recreation Center offers outstanding fitness facilities, a full intramural sports program, sports clubs and fitness classes that range from aikido to Zumba.
  • Our Counseling Services Center, a free service to students, provides mental health counseling, critical incident intervention and consultations.
  • Our Disability Support Services Center offers academic support, audio-format materials, building access, parking, priority registration, resource lab equipment, scholarships, student clubs, testing accommodations and interpreters for students with documented disabilities.

But, as current UB students will tell you, the University’s top resource is its faculty. Unlike the instructors at some other schools, they are experienced, real-world practitioners.

UB professors will share their knowledge with you and then show you how to apply what you’ve learned to your future career. They’ll also work with you to connect with internships, part-time work and even a new job once you’ve graduated.
