Forward Motion
UB continues to take bold steps toward a bright future.
Progress. Expansion. Invention. These powerful words accurately describe the University of Baltimore’s trajectory over the past decade plus. Now, with new President Kurt L. Schmoke at the helm, our intentions are even further crystallized: We are focused on the future, and our bold vision for it revolves around an educational experience that supports students in important ways.
We’re talking about strategic, integral services—like those offered by our Career and Professional Development Center—tailored to our growing, eclectic student population. Inventive curriculum like our Entrepreneurship Fellows program, which immerses faculty and students in imminent, real-world business ventures. And a renovation of Langsdale Library to create another landmark building as a cornerstone of our expanding footprint and our efforts to define UB as an anchor institution in midtown Baltimore.
And if there’s one thing we’ve learned from our successes in evolving our campus with the addition of the UB Student Center and the John and Frances Angelos Law Center, it’s that what happens inside our buildings is most important. That’s where we ensure our students are prepared, our faculty are recognized and our community members are well served. Of course, none of this would be possible without another vital component: the dedicated alumni and friends who contribute to the University of Baltimore Foundation.
These people—our community—are what this University always has been and always will be about. And why we are able to continue to move forward toward a future that is bold, brave and exciting.
