Introduction

History: Founded in 1920 - part of the national league. It grew out of National American Women's Sufferage Association. It was a voluntary association, which was nonpartisan.

Mission: Provides impartial studies related to the electoral process and the functions of government in order to encourage active citizen participation in their government.

Description: Correspondence, administrative files, minutes, biographies, research reports, directories, publications, and reference materials.

Subjects: Research reports geared to informing public: include education, highways, legislation, local transit, government, welfare, zoning, urban renewal, and race relations.
