Description:

By your second registration at UB, you should have already taken your Upper-division Writing Placement Test to ensure timely graduation and to enhance your academic performance in subsequent courses.  In order to register for Advanced Expository Writing (WRIT 300)—an upper-division general education writing course required of all majors—you must either pass Practicum in Writing (WRIT 200) or score a 300 on the Upper-division Writing Placement Test.

The test, which can only be taken once, is administered by the Achievement and Learning Center by appointment only weekdays from June 18 through Aug. 3, and on two Saturdays: June 30 and Aug. 4.

You must R.S.V.P. for this test through UB’s Web calendar (if there is no R.S.V.P. field below, then this section is full—please try another date). Be sure to arrive a few minutes before the start time. Late arrivals will not be admitted. Bring a photo ID and a pen or pencil to the Academic Center, room 113.
