Safe Space is a national program that identifies LGBTQ-friendly faculty, staff, and students. The purpose of the safe space program is to make the UB campus a safer and freer environment for all members of our community regardless of sexual orientation. The Safe Space training will provide information about how to be a supportive ally to LGBTQ students and colleagues. Training topics will include the role and importance of safe spaces, the components of sexuality and gender, Transgender community and gender variance, and what it means to be an Ally. This workshop will be presented in the train the trainer format.
