Public Comment Session for UB Police CALEA Accreditation

As part of the University of Baltimore Police Department's accreditation process with the national Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc., the department will host a public comment session on Tuesday, March 26. This will follow a visit by CALEA's team on Monday, March 25. The team will examine all aspects of the department’s policies, procedures, management, operations and support services, and will accept public comment as part of the assessment process.
The CALEA assessment is a voluntary process for a police agency to gain accreditation—a highly prized recognition of a public safety department's professionalism and capabilitie.
As part of the on-site assessment, agency personnel and members of the community are invited to offer comments at a public information session on Tuesday, March 26 at 5 p.m. in the Venable Baetjer Howard Moot Court Room in the University of Baltimore School of Law, 1415 Maryland Ave. The building's entrance is located just off Gordon Plaza, located on the northeast corner of Maryland Avenue and Mt. Royal Avenue.
If a member of the public wishes to offer comment but cannot do so during the session, there are two additional ways to participate:
- By telephone: Call 410.837.5116 on Tuesday, March 26 between 1 and 3 p.m. The phone will be staffed by a member of the CALEA assessment team.
- In writing: Send a written communication to the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement, Inc., 13575 Heathcote Boulevard, Suite 320, Gainesville, Va., 20155.
