Faheem Younus, clinical associate professor in the University of Maryland School of Medicine and founder of Muslimerican.com, will lead a debate, "Why the Moral Argument to Attack Syria is a Hard Sell," on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 12:30 p.m. in the University of Baltimore's Town Hall in the Learning Commons, 1415 Maryland Ave. Free and open to the public, this event is presented by UB's Hoffberger Center for Professional Ethics. Younus is a member of the center's advisory board.
In The Baltimore Sun on Sept. 3, Younus contributed an op-ed about the Syrian crisis.
"Mr. President, my nephews and nieces, who live in Pakistan, Canada and elsewhere, buy the fact that Syrian President Bashar Assad should be ousted and held responsible for his reprehensible actions against his own people," Younus wrote in the piece. "But they are refusing to buy the moral argument for the United States to launch a military strike against Syria."
