The HEROES Academy is a University of Baltimore community outreach initiative created by UB faculty and staff and hosted by the entire UB community. This college-readiness program provides high school students with a simulated college experience as they begin to make decisions about life after high school. To date, 750 local high school students and over 200 UB faculty and staff have participated. The HEROES Academy is intended to inspire young students to continue their educational journey beyond high school and, through meaningful community service, to offer UB faculty, staff and students an opportunity to support each high school students’ dreams for college success.
