Description:

The way governments collect and use personal data has made controversial headlines ranging from alleged whistleblower Eric Snowden, to the Congressional tug of war between security and privacy. Where do we stand as public citizens? How do we balance privacy and national security? What is the extent of government data collection and surveillance and how is it affecting our image worldwide? What can leaders learn from these challenging questions?  Join a panel of faculty, staff, and student leaders on Thursday, November 14 at 4pm in the Learning Commons Town Hall as we grapple with one of the most critical issues of our time.  A reception with free refreshments will follow the event.

Panelists include: Toni Martsoukos, Academic Coordinator, Division of Legal, Ethical and Historical Studies Ivan Sheehan, Assistant Professor, School of Public and International Affairs Dr. Josh Kassner, Assistant Professor Division of Legal, Ethical and Historical Studies Frank van Vliet, Executive in Residence, Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship

This event is presented by Be More and UB Debaters.

Additional sponsors include: Helen P. Denit Honors Program, International Student Association, Latin American Student Association, Marketing Club, Muslim Student Association, Omicron Delta Kappa, SEB, SGA, and AIGA UB.
