Join the University of Baltimore Law Forum for a symposium: Refining Maryland Law in a Technological World

Reception and happy hour to follow.The symposium will feature four panels:
DNA: 1:30-2:30 p.m.
A panel will address the implications of recent decisions from the Maryland Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court. What right to privacy do you really have in your DNA? What are the uses and impact of DNA evidence to resolve unsolved cases?Cybersecurity: 2:40-3:30 p.m.
Experts will discuss the need for reform in cybersecurity law and the implications of cybersecurity from both a legal and business perspective.
Cyber Crimes: 3:45-4:45 p.m.
What measures are being taken to address crimes committed in cyberspace? How is Maryland leading the nation in developing strategies for building and maintaining strong cybersecurity infrastructure? A panel of local legislators and prosecutors will discuss the developments of cyber crimes and the Maryland laws that address them.
Technology in Maryland Courts: 5-5:45 p.m.
Are Maryland courts keeping pace with technology? How realistic is a trial conducted in virtual space, and what are the implications of those changes? How can judges prepare for cases that involve advanced business, technological, scientific or medical disputes?
