Description:

Glazer will present her developing expertise in the study of occupational stress across cultures, starting with PTSD and progressing onward to developing a measure on meaningfulness in life. From the time Dr. Glazer was a child, she knew of stress and trauma as experienced by her grandparents. Over the years, the topic of stress became more salient as she observed how people in different countries reacted to the stressors they faced, particularly at work. After much exploration and empirical research on personality and environmental (i.e., cultural factors), Dr. Glazer has expanded her research program to include the extent to which meaningfulness plays a role in how people’s experience of stressors affect strains.
