This event is an opportunity for students to share experiential learning projects (including Research and Project Based Learning, Internship, Study Abroad/Global Field Study, Community Engagement, and Service Learning) in a ten-minute presentation to peers, staff, faculty, parents, and alumni. In addition, attendees will hear from University of Baltimore alumni who participated in experiential learning and learn how their experience impacted them.

Alumni Panelists:

Julia Branco, B.A. '14, worked in UB's Office of Community Engagement where she organized various community service projects throughout Baltimore City and led a group of students on an alternative spring break to Mullens, WV. Upon graduation, Julia traveled to the Thailand-Burma border to teach Burmese refugees about community organizing for social justice. She is now project and program services coordinator at the Central Baltimore Partnership, where she builds coalitions to further community development in Central Baltimore. 

Adnan Hameed, B.S. '14, participated in an alternative spring break trip in 2011 when he traveled to Boston to learn about sustainable farming practices and green building. In 2013, he went on a global field study to Brazil and he will go on another service learning trip to the Philippines in January 2016. He currently works for the Howard County Dept. of Recreation and Parks as a facility leader.

Carol Roberts, B.S. '07, M.P.A. '10, participated in a Community Engagement and Service Learning project where she assisted a homeless organization in Baltimore, A Journey Home, in the creation of a performance measurement system which allowed them to quantify their accomplishments. She is currently working for the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs.
