Description:

ACT to Manage Your Difficult Emotions Before They Control You

Facilitators:  Dr. J. Donahue & Dr. Waters

This four session workshop will introduce participants to an Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) approach to managing anger and other feelings people sometimes have difficulty handling.  Although the primary focus will be on understanding anger and reducing its negative impact, the tools learned through these sessions may also be applied to other feelings such as anxiety, sadness and frustration.  You will: learn to identify your most difficult feeling, the cost of not managing it well, and discover how the feeling is created and maintained. Finally, you will learn skills that allow you to “act” differently when challenged by these emotions.

Thursdays, 12:30pm – 2:00pm, in the Langsdale Library, room LC 421E
